Description
Has a softer, less woody appearance and prefers a higher water table and more moisture than it’s sagebrush cousins. Will even tolerate periodic seasonal flooding. Typically found at higher elevations. Is moderately palatable for livestock and is great forage for wildlife in winter months. Blooms yellow July-September, 1-3′ tall with gray-green foliage and a very distinct aroma, especially after rainfall.
