Description

Tree or large shrub, 15-20 feet high. Adapts to dry or moist conditions. Large, pussy-willow like catkins in spring. Grows rapidly, useful for naturalizing and restoration. Also called fire willow because it quickly occupies burned areas. Habitat is lowlands to subalpine, forests to clearings.
